So after quite some time off from doing any Updates for Clubhouse or should I say CHUpdates – which is what I was affectionately calling them back when I was holding a weekly room! This is when the LIVE Clubhouse Town Halls were every week. Now it looks like they are going to be monthly. This is a schedule I think I can handle committing to at least for this month and next! So here are today’s updates. In my quick note taking style.

Previously the staff at Clubhouse would create live links to each of the houses they were discussing as they talked about each one and it was a fun show to see would they or would they not get the link up before the next highlighted house was being talked about. Today they worked smarter not harder! here is the list of all the Houses Past Highlighted Rooms and the Upcoming Rooms.

What’s New?
- Group Chats for every house – This can be used in the same way that someone would use a signal channel or other messaging group that could be used for communication. The following ideas were given for using these chats.

Here is some further info on the settings for the chats: Any settings you had put into place are the ones that carry over. So, If you want to control who can create a chat – you may way to confirm the settings are configured the way we want.
Chat Notifications can be adjusted by – long press to change settings. if you don’t want to get a notification you can turn it off – however, I have noticed that thus far some notifications come through anyway. So the best way if you really don’t want to get the messages is to Leave the House. Which only works for houses you also are ok with leaving – a fun road we are on!
App architecture change – ALL the aSynchronis “Chats” that were in the hallway have disappeared also. So in addition to the House Hallways all having chats moved to the messaging tab. The other chats that were in the hallway have become archives of the move and can be found by searching for the house the chat was a part of and clicking on the see archived chats link there.
Coming Soon!
New Experiment – iOS – New discover tab – expanding the search tab. There will be a bunch of discovery option added to help you find upcoming rooms and new houses you might like. The expansion also will include Recommended houses and upcoming rooms based on friends – overview of the house and RSVP access without having to go anywhere – This will be rolled out to SOME of the iOS users but not to everyone. And it being promoted as a test.
New Events Upcoming…
House Pages will be redesigned, it will have a place for a little more information for the house. A view of the Live Rooms and the ability to see and create scheduled rooms also right from one screen. No more needing to tap through to the menus to create your next scheduled event. Members if allowed to create rooms will be able to do so right from the House Page (House Hallway)
Also included in this major rework of the House Pages or House Hallways as I liked to call them is that you will be able to See a preview of house chat from that tab. So you won’t necessarily need to go to your messages (Back channel) tab in order to see the single house chat thread.

Q. How do I start a house chat?
- Go to messages tab
- Search for your house in search window at top.
OR try creating a New Message – Search for House name. Once you locate the house name carry on as you would any message.
NOTE: as stated above in the Coming Soon items: Entry point for House Chat will be restored to the House Hallway at an upcoming release – possibly next week.
Q. Blocked person can see that you are online.
It does not hide your online profile so that it does not allow the person you have blocked to realise that you have blocked them.
A blocked user – what do you want to see in the aspect of the block.
Q. Can we get a refresher on how the blocking feature works?
A. Article in Knowledge Center for comprehensive overview of current logic.
The first thing is that they are Removed as your friend. Any rooms that you Create or Moderate Rooms – blocked users can’t see.
You and blocked user can be in rooms you have not created. You will get a warning that someone you blocked is in the room so you can decide if you want to get into the room.

Q. Does Clubhouse Delete Replays
A. Clubhouse has the ability to hide replays that go against the guidelines.
Only the creator of the replay can delete the replays.
Q. Why won’t you bring back clips?
A. Not a good implementation of the highlight feature.

A. Most people’s houses don’t have enough chats happening that it’s not a real problem?

A. Yes, 100% this makes sense.

A. Never thought of it really – assumption of wanting to only have the one language.
Preferring to fix the ability to get the right live audio rooms into our hallways first before we make filtering options.
